Robert J. Mulroy has served
as a director, and President and Chief Executive Officer since 1998.
Since joining Merrimack, Mr. Mulroy has guided the financing, strategic
direction, and operating growth of the Company. He worked previously
as a management consultant supporting the strategic needs of clients
in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. He has also worked
as consultant in the field of international development and has
served as an advisor to multiple start-ups in the biotechnology
industry. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University and a master’s
degree in public and private management (MPPM) from Yale University.

Lisa A. Evrén joined Merrimack Pharmaceuticals in June 2007 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. From 2002 to 2007, Ms. Evrén was Vice President and Treasurer at Amgen, Inc. where she was responsible for capital raising, investment, and associated P&L, balance sheet and risk management areas. Prior to Amgen, Ms. Evrén held senior finance positions at Sun Microsystems, Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company and Pfizer Inc. Ms. Evrén holds a BA from Pomona College, a JD and Ll.M (Taxation) from the New York University School of Law, and is also a registered nurse.

William J. Slichenmyer, M.D. joined Merrimack in July 2007 as Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Slichenmyer held the position of Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for all therapeutic areas at Pfizer, Inc. While he was in that role, Pfizer won approval for some notable products including Sutent (cancer), Exubera (diabetes), Chantix (smoking cessation) and Macugen (macular degeneration). Dr. Slichenmyer's role at Pfizer from 2000-2005 was Vice President and Worldwide Therapeutic Area Head for Oncology Clinical Development. Prior to Pfizer, Dr. Slichenmyer held senior drug development positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Hybridon, Inc. Dr. Slichenmyer holds a BA and a MD from Case Western Reserve University as well as a Sc.M. from the Schools of Medicine and Public Health at The Johns Hopkins University. He is a board certified Medical Oncologist, having completed his Oncology fellowship training at The Johns Hopkins Oncology Center.

Ulrik B. Nielsen, Ph.D. is Merrimack’s Vice President of Research. He is an expert
in antibody engineering and protein chip technology and a co-founder
of Merrimack. Prior to joining Merrimack, Dr. Nielsen
was a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Peter Sorger's laboratory at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he researched the interface
among biology, engineering, and computational biology. Dr. Nielsen
received his Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen in molecular
biology and trained in the laboratory of Dr. James D. Marks at the
University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Nielsen received an
M.S. and a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen.

Fazal R. Khan, Ph.D.
joined Merrimack Pharmaceuticals in April 2006 as the Vice President of Manufacturing. Most recently, Dr. Khan worked at Cellective Therapeutics, Inc. as Vice President of Manufacturing, until the company was acquired by MedImmune. Prior to Cellective, Dr. Khan was Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at Human Genome Sciences (HGS). Preceding his work at HGS, Dr. Khan was the Director of Biopharmaceuticals Development and Manufacturing at Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc. During his tenure at Hoffmann-LaRoche, Dr. Khan managed the development and manufacturing of several biologics for clinical trials and for commercial needs. Dr. Khan gained international experience working with Roche Basel in Switzerland, Celltech Group in the United Kingdom and Nippon Roche in Japan. Dr. Khan received his B.S. in Biology and M.S. and PhD in Biochemistry from Aligarh University in India.

Edward J. Stewart joined Merrimack in 2001 and has been responsible for various product and business development functions within the Company including corporate partnering, licensing, intellectual property management and commercialization strategy. Prior to Merrimack, he consulted on issues of product strategy to clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. He holds a BS from Bates College and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Johnson School at Cornell University.
